I hope everyone is doing well with choosing, and implementing, their word of the year. I am finding mine to be very helpful in keeping me on track to meet my 2015 goals. In the spirit of my high school daughter's word of "organization" I decided to create this free printable to help students of all ages be more organized in 2015.
Students who struggle with organization, generally can't visualize what they need to do each day to be and stay organized. There are very few people who can follow a daily, weekly and monthly routine, in many different areas of their lives, and be successful. This is why I LOVE a good checklist. One of the things that I most love about this printable is that it has a daily, weekly and monthly list that students can "check off" after they have completed each task. For many, there is a great sense of accomplishment in seeing all they have accomplished. This also is a quick way for students to see what they've missed and still need to complete. Instead of printing many copies of the list why not laminate it and then you can use a sharpie to check off each completes task. Then, when you want to remove the marker checks, simple use an eraser and erase it! Neat huh? But wait...there's more! Not only did I create this nifty calendar but I also included a separate sheet with a description of each item on the calendar. Again, this is to help those students who struggle with visualizing what they need to do. It will take them step by step for each item on the calendar. I keep saying that this is for students but it's really for parents/teachers too because you will find that you won't be telling your students what to do over and over and over. In the early days of using the calendar, I would set up a system of "checking" your student's progress with the list. Simply being a set of eyes to double check and keep them on track is enough. Once they seem to be completely independent with it, let them be. Enjoy using this tool! I'd love to hear how you do. Oh...and please share this printable with anyone your feel may need it.
